What to Expect

We’ll start with a 90-minute intake so I can learn about your child and your family. I’ll send you several forms and questionnaires before we meet so we can make the best use of the time.

From there, we’ll identify treatment goals and develop an initial treatment plan together. Treatment plans may include individual therapy, meetings with parents together with youth or individually, as well as consultation with medical providers or school staff as appropriate.

Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes. Each session will involve learning and applying skills, tailored to a child and family’s individual needs. You will be asked to complete activities in between sessions in order to practice and reinforce skills. We will track symptoms and behaviors over time to examine if treatment goals are being met. The length of treatment will vary depending on a child’s or family’s specific needs and treatment plans may evolve over time.

Like many psychologists, my practice is typically full. The slots I do have open are often not during after-school hours and I run an internal waiting list for after-school slots. I am happy to problem-solve ways for young people to meet with me during school hours.

I offer a fixed number of sliding scale slots. Please inquire about availability or waitlist options.

Insurance & Health Savings Accounts

I am not in-network for any insurance company, but I can provide documentation for you to submit to insurance for reimbursement for out-of-network behavioral health services or I can bill your insurance directly on your behalf in most cases.

You can contact your insurer to ask about your out-of-network benefits for services with a licensed psychologist. Specific questions to ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • Are there session limits per calendar year?

  • What portion of the fee will I be responsible for?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

I accept payment from Health Savings Accounts.

I am an approved provider with Washington State Adoption Support.

Cancellation

I require 24-hour notice of cancellation. Sessions canceled within 24 hours are subject to a cancelation fee of the hourly rate.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service.
